When one typically thinks of a confectioner in Basel, Switzerland, the image that comes to mind is usually and old, possibly Victorian space and dark earth tones punctuated by bright colors.
Not so at the new Confiserie Bachmann flagship coffee house and chocolate shop. Clean, modern, white, bright and reflective, like perfect dark chocolate. A small space that feels deceptively large, yet still cozy. Plenty of display space for eager customers (like us) and an intimate, off street outdoor space for warmer weather. Nice contrast between the modern interior and classic exterior of the structure. Pity about the display window replacement.
Brilliantly designed by Swiss firm HHF architects, we found this post, with many pictures,on DesignCrave.
Enjoy. I like fresh takes on old ideas. A fresh approach is often is often a very good thing.
