So, we were out and about on Valentine’s Day. Things to do, people to meet. Presentations to be made. Lunch needed to grabbed by the roadside. Unfortunately, there were no cute and romantic little French bistro’s to be had in the wilds of New Jersey. We had to settle for an Asian-International buffet. I think it is the pizza that makes it International. Also the ever curious mix of Sushi and American Chinese.
What’s a guy to do?
Faced with a two inch square of something that looks like chocolate cake, a dull, bent, blunt end steak knife and plates as palette, a little quick sculpting. On the fly. Standing, amongst the anxious and determined dessert getters (a scary bunch, I might add). Just a little quick carving.
Not my best work, but heart felt. And well received.
There’s a great little French joint on Route 46 along the Delaware River. It’s the Buckwood Bistro. Not sure where you were but this is defintely the “wilds of New Jersey.”
Check it out sometime. It’s run by a real French chef — as in, from France.
Uke Jackson and the Ginseng Roots Band will be playing there for Mardi Gras — (Fat) Tuesday March 8.
