The Kennedy Center in DC is a magnificent Mid-Century Modern facility. The Steven Holl additions, which broke ground last week, not so much. I’ve never been a fan of Mr. Holl’s work, and although I’m glad that
- The new facilities will exist
- That they will be under ground.
Adding classrooms, a new outdoor performance facility and gardens from which the original structure can be seen is admirable, but the new spaces are just boring.
